The Residential Leadership Awards is our end of year award ceremony that celebrates the hard work and accomplishments of Housing and Residence Educations' Community Councils and Involved Living Organizations.

Please fill out the linked form to nominate a Residential Leader or Program for the 2024-2025 Residential Leadership Awards. Nominations are due February 28, 2025. One nomination can be submitted per the form below, but you are able to submit multiple forms. Please read the description of the award to write a short narrative (at minimum - one to two paragraphs) describing your nomination. https://go.osu.edu/rlanominations

- ILO President of the Year
- The ILO President of the Year is a President who exceeded expectations in advancing the mission, vision, and goals of their ILO during the 2024-2025 academic year. Please consider how the nominee demonstrated leadership abilities and took initiative to go above and beyond their expectations as the President. This award is open to NRHH, RHAC, MUNDO, BSA, and OTL.
- ILO Executive Board Member of the Year
- The ILO Executive Board Member of the Year is an individual who exceeded expectations in advancing the mission, vision, and goals of their Involved Living Organization during the 2024-2025 academic year. Please consider how the nominee demonstrated leadership abilities and took the initiative to go above and beyond their expectations as an Executive Board Member. This award is open to NRHH, RHAC, MUNDO, BSA, and OTL. Presidents are not eligible for this award.
- ILO Advisor of the Year
- The ILO Advisor of the Year is an individual who positively impacted the students in their Involved Living Organization. This individual must be an advisor for RHAC, NRHH, BSA, MUNDO, or OTL. Please consider how the nominee provided resources to their organization, supported students in developing their leadership abilities, and took the initiative to go above and beyond expectations as an ILO advisor.
- ILO Program of the Year
- The ILO Program of the Year is a program, activity, or event a Student Involved Living Organization planned and facilitated that positively impacted their community or organization. This event represented one or more of the three main Learning Goals: Personal Development, Considerate Communities, and Global Responsibility. This award is open to NRHH, RHAC, MUNDO, BSA, and OTL. Please consider the program’s learning outcomes, the community’s response to the program, and creativity involved in planning the program.
- Community Council President of the Year
- The Community Council President of the Year is a President who exceeded expectations in advancing the mission, vision, and goals of their Community Council during the 2024-2025 academic year. Please consider how the nominee demonstrated leadership abilities and took initiative to go above and beyond their expectations as the President.
- Community Council Executive Board Member of the Year
- The Community Council Executive Board Member of the Year is an individual who exceeded expectations in advancing the mission, vision, and goals of their Community Council during the 2024-2025 academic year. Please consider how the nominee demonstrated leadership abilities, supported other members of the Executive Board, and took initiative to go above and beyond expectations in their role. Presidents are not eligible for this award.
- Community Council Advisor of the Year
- The Community Council Advisor of the Year is an individual who positively impacted the students in their community and organization. Please consider how the nominee provided resources to their Community Council, supported students in developing their leadership abilities, and took the initiative to go above and beyond expectations as a Community Council advisor.
- Community Council Program of the Year
- The Community Council Program of the Year is a program, activity, or event a Community Council planned and facilitated that positively impacted their community. Please consider the program’s learning outcomes, the community’s response to the program, and creativity involved in planning the program.
- Program that Best Implements Personal Development
- Program, activity, or event that best supported students in strengthening their knowledge of self, identity, personal needs, and/or create a plan that contributed to their wellbeing. This award is open to Councils, NRHH, RHAC, MUNDO, BSA, and OTL. Please consider the program’s learning outcomes, the community’s response to the program, and creativity involved in planning the program.
- Program that Best Implements Considerate Communities
- Program, activity, or event that best supported students in building skills around connecting with others and creating spaces that are interactive, accountable, and learning-centered. This award is open to Councils, NRHH, RHAC, MUNDO, BSA, and OTL. Please consider the program’s learning outcomes, the community’s response to the program, and creativity involved in planning the program.
- Program that Best Implements Global Responsibility
- Program, activity, or event that best supported students in recognizing and expanding their knowledge, experiences, and worldview including their impact on society in ways that honor and advocate for all individuals. This award is open to Councils, NRHH, RHAC, MUNDO, BSA, and OTL. Please consider the program’s learning outcomes, the community’s response to the program, and creativity involved in planning the program.

Involved Living Organization (ILO) New Executive Board Retreat
The ILO New Executive Board Retreat is something that Housing and Residence Education (HRE) hosts to welcome and provide a developmental experience for the 2025-2026 executive boards. During this event, we’ll chat about your connection to HRE, do some reflecting, idea generating, and planning for your organization and the upcoming year! All incoming and returning ILO executive officers and advisors are expected to attend the ILO Executive Board Retreat.

Location: Nosker Burgee Room
Check-in: 4:45 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Retreat Time: 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Involved Living Summit 2024
Occured - Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 11:00am - 4:00pm at Curl Market - Viewpoint (2nd floor) & Schoenbaum Hall
The Involved Living Summit is an opportunity for students to develop as individuals, connect with other students, and learn more about leadership. This development focused day will include free lunch, time to connect with peers and staff, and educational sessions. We are inviting any student interested in attending this event! The IL Summit is required for Community Council and ILO executive boards – including at least one advisor from each organization.
Our theme this year was focused on Growing into Leadership, with the notion that we are coming into a new year of growing our foundations with new leadership, challenges, and focuses as an institution and individually.
Attire for the event is business casual or whatever you feel most comfortable in.
