The MUNDO Involved Living Initiative
MUNDO invites you to grow, explore, and connect right where you live... and beyond.
Since 1997, MUNDO has helped Buckeyes connect what they learn in class to meaningful opportunities where they live, across campus, around the country, and even abroad.
Whether traveling to a major city, joining weekly community gatherings, or stepping into a leadership role, being part of MUNDO means building practical skills in communication, teamwork, and civic responsibility.
MUNDO welcomes all students who are willing to grow developmentally, think critically, and engage with a wide range of ideas and perspectives in respectful, thoughtful ways.

Our Story
From ResRules! to MUNDO
MUNDO at Ohio State began in 1997 as ResRules!, a creative initiative led by Dr. Julius Mayo, Kathlene Mullens, Shawn Baratz, and Jamie Lodermeier-Fay. It started with a bold idea: help students learn about the world by experiencing it. The first program included workshops that led up to a powerful Memorial Day weekend trip to New York City to see the Broadway musical Rent—sparking deep conversations about identity, community, and social change.
Since then, MUNDO (Multicultural Understanding through Nontraditional Discovery Opportunities) has grown into a vibrant part of the Involved Living experience at Ohio State. It brings together students, staff, faculty, and community leaders to explore real-world problems and opportunities through dialogue, community outreach, and through "learning by experience" on campus, across the United States, and around the world.
