MUNDO An Involved Living Organization

Land Acknowledgement

MUNDO respectfully acknowledges the territory where we gather as being the ancestral homelands of the Cherokee, Delaware, Miami, Ojibwe, Peoria, Potawatomi, Seneca, Shawnee, and Wyandot Peoples.

In recognition of the rich histories and continuing legacies of these indigenous nations as well as others who were selectively omitted from the history of the United States and the world, we encourage those within our group to engage with the lived experiences of others (both past and present) in ways that promote cross-cultural learning and active anti-bias behaviors.

  • A Land Acknowledgement is a formal statement that recognizes and respects Indigenous Peoples as traditional stewards of this land and the enduring relationship that exists between Indigenous Peoples and their traditional territories. (Taken from https://bit.ly/3hGvmrA)
