OWL Co-Chairs will spend the summer helping to plan and implement all aspects of the Ohio State Welcome Leader program, while also serving as an Office Assistant at the Residence Life desk and help carry out various office related tasks. This will include a few weekly meetings and tasks assigned throughout the summer. These Co-Chairs will lead the entire OWL program and help lead Area Coordinators, OWL-Cs, and OWLs throughout the program and Move-In. 

• This is a paid (20 hours/week at $10.10/hour) undergraduate student employee position who will partially be working as an Office Assistant for Housing and Residence Education and partially working on OWL tasks. This is an hourly paid student employee position of $10.10/hour, and this position may have additional opportunity for compensation in the form of campus housing through July and potentially a meal plan for the summer months. Please note that Housing is not available for all of August if you're not living on campus in Fall 2023. If you will be living on campus, then you can switch from your summer housing placement to your new residence hall placement for Fall 2023.

• Contributes a significant amount in the planning of the OWL program (training, fun events, etc.

• Helps create content for training and other sessions throughout the program.

• Act as liaisons between OWL Leadership & Planning Team, ACs, OWL-Cs, and OWLs.

• Collaborates with other campus partners on projects, presentations, and more. 

• Will have public speaking roles throughout the OWL Program and a couple times over the summer months. 

 

Dates of Appointment: May 15, 2023 - August 20, 2023 (tentative)

The Office of Student Life - Housing and Residence Education is looking for two exceptional student leaders to serve as Co-Chairs for the Ohio State Welcome Leader Program. These paid positions offer students the opportunity to demonstrate and further develop outstanding leadership skills over the summer. This role includes large scale event planning, organizing spreadsheets, creating content for training, team development, and more!

 2022-2023 Resident Advisors are not eligible to serve in this position.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

-   Must be an undergraduate student on an Ohio State University campus

-   Enrolled as a full-time student in academic OSU coursework (student does not have to take classes over the summer)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-   Past involvement with the OWL program

-   OWL Area Coordinator or OWL-Coordinator
