Residential Leadership Awards 2023

The Student Involvement & Leadership Committee, otherwise known as “SILC” (pronounced “silk”), hosted HRE’s annual Residential Leadership Awards event in Curl Viewpoint Tuesday evening, and we had over 150 people in attendance! The Residence Halls Advisory Council sponsored our Olive Garden catering, students were able to enjoy their red-carpet photos with our balloon décor and over 20 awards were presented to students and advisors.

A huge thank you to HRE’s Student Involvement & Leadership Committee: Alex Davis, Ben Helms, Dani Rodriguez Pacheco, Becca Ross, Bailey Haller, Adam Specht, Danielle Brown, Leah Wheeler and our Chair Morgan Gill for their work in contributing to make this event a success! Second, a big thank you to Dr. Rebecca Kapusta for giving a fabulous keynote and offering to do so on her birthday!

We were happy to see a mixture of ILOs, Community Councils, and paraprofessional staff attend this event. SILC wanted to expand the reach of the Residential Leadership Awards this year to recognize the fantastic programming that happens in our residential communities. We added over 5 new award categories, which resulted in 10+ new award recipients. You all broke records this year as SILC received over 200 nominations for the awards we presented last night!
